Alissa Drozenski
When she was a child here parents noticed that Alissa had an affinity for
animals, and they saw that the animals responded likewise to her. She soon
realized that working for a veterinarian and maybe even becoming a veterinarian
would be a good goal for her to pursue.
Alissa began at Mid Hudson Animal Hospital as a bright and eager 14 year
old whose tasks included walking and feeding all the pets in the hospital.
We soon realized that she had a 'gift' for seeing things from a different
perspective than everyone else. She also proved to be very smart, asking
questions and absorbing all the medical knowledge that went on around her.
When Kelly Brazaitis started a training school here at the office Alissa
became her assistant and was soon a very competent dog trainer. When we acquired
an ultrasound unit, Alissa, perhaps because of her artistic ability and ability
to see things in three dimensions, showed an amazing affinity for interpreting
images. Not only does she have a way with the technical equipment in the
hospital but she also has a loving way with all our visiting pets, who seem
to trust her when they are wary of anyone else.
Alissa is currently enrolled at Ulster County Community College in order
to obtain her degree as a veterinary technician. She's due to graduate next
year and after that...perhaps veterinary school. When not working at the
office she draws, paints, hikes and listens to Bob Dylan incessantly.
